only you would go to Hell A and have only such an experience... Every city is beautiful in its own right, and both your pictures and story indicate a truly miserable experience and perspective. Did you go ready to hate?

X is right to hate.

I live in LA and love it.

... but still kinda hate it.

Only I? C'mon, let's call a spade a spade here. While I didn't go to LA with the intention of hating it, and while a lot of this is exaggeration for comedic effect (if only to make myself laugh), I found that LA left me very few options but to dislike it. And you're the only person who's said otherwise so far.

Anyhow, it'll all come full circle in the second half.

And I think my pictures are pretty.

This looks like one of those "character building" trips.

It's nice to see the one legged bum you were talking about, though.

Sure you can take some pretty pictures, but the colors are all dull and while the images seem to suggest some vitality, their muted luster seems to supress any vibrance that was really present at the time. It all fits with the tone of your piece

And I am certainly not alone in liking LA, mister

"their muted luster seems to supress any vibrance that was really present at the time"

Listen, I know you have a giant hard-on for the greatness of LA with all its scenic Garfield billboards and filthy air, but unless you were there, staring into my viewfinder the same time I did, then I think you might've misworded your response.

I didn't adjust my camera to mute the colors. I didn't intentionally suppress the vibrance. None of these pictures have been messed with in photoshop, which is what you seem to be intimating. All I'm interested in is taking good pictures, so your claims that I intentionally shot stuff to support my argument of crapitude or monkeyed with them to acheive such is way off the mark.

LA is the city that makes my nose bleed. I hate the fuck out of it.
That being said, I am going down next week...

And yes, your pictures ARE pretty. Like AWT.

I think you can do better
