tornado alley
this week has produced more tornados in a single week than ever before in recorded american weather history. here in kc, we just get the afterbirth and the precum of each superstorm churning along to go fuck shit up in Kansas and level another poor town in Oklahoma.
the lightning is so strong and so close, there's a wave of pain and itching that courses through my fillings right before the roll of thunder. the rain comes down like a faucet, pounds everything for ten million seconds and then stops, cuts out, sounds like someone hit mute.
Then it's like living inside a stormcloud, just waiting for that one shift in heat or cold to kick the whole inert mass into another circus stunt of sideways rain and jagged little bits of hail. the local weathermen are breaking down on-air, on the verge of apologetic tears, and the birds are too freaked out to keep pace.
ah, spring.
