It was Charlie Gomez who told me on the first day at Murphy Hall, "If you want to keep Murphy on your good side, just make him laugh." Then, to prove his point, he turned to Murphy and made little gun fingers, saying in his inimitable fashion, "Murphy, I like your style!"
